My roommate, Prasad, went up to Northern California this past week to see his sister, who was in San Francisco, and do some camping in Yosemite. Coming back home, he drove the beautiful PCH - Pacific Coast Highway. The pictures he sent out of his journey, I think, reveal a very different California than the 'fun in the sun' version that Hollywood portrays, but one that is just as rich in culture and beautiful! I hope you enjoy a few of his shots. Love, Mer
I'm a 30-something year old technical recruiter, originally from Houston, and a proud graduate of The University of Texas - Austin. I lived in California for a majority of my adult life (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose) and studied abroad en Espana durante la universidad. You could say I've been a bit of a gypsy, but in the last five years, I met and married the man of my dreams, moved back to Texas, introduced my son Patrick in January 2009 and daughter Katie in November 2010. LIfe as a working mom is incredibly hectic, but I'm livin' the dream, baby!
My interests include food (cooking and dining), movies, wine, traveling, networking, blogging, spending time with my loved ones, and exploring my way through life. In my blog, you'll read a great deal about my family and friends, adventures I've experienced, and weird musings that cross my mind throughout the day!
Favorite movies include Shawshank Redemption, Election, Amelie, 8 Mile, Zoolander, Something's Gotta Give, Garden State, and many more.
Places I've visited include New York City, Washington DC, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Cozumel and Cancun, Montreal, Toronto, London, Paris, Madrid, Granada Spain, Kauai, Maui, Honolulu, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, The Bahamas, and a few other places of interest. At the VERY top of my list of places to visit are Greece and Italy. I would also love to visit Turkey and Egypt at some point in my life.
